Among US VR: Here’s what to expect
This holiday, the popular game Among Us will introduce their first-person view gaming version. First announced at The Game Awards 2021, Among Us VR shows a short gameplay teaser where players go around the Skeld (the first map of Among Us) doing tasks on a keypad before a crewmember shows up behind. Here are some new cool features that only the VR version of the game offers.
Among Us: New Task!
The so-called “Tasks” will be far different this time around in the VR version. In the trailer, one of these new minigames is Reaction Time. This is a whack-a-mole minigame where you will be tested to see how quick you are. “If you can beat nine seconds, you’re better than the director of the game” - said the project director Mike Trafficante in an interview on Techradar. Moreover, some original tasks will be added with new visual elements.
First-person Perspective: New features
With this updated first-person perspective from the original top-down view, you can expect significant changes in your awareness of the surroundings. Now, even when you and your friends are together as a group in one room, it’s still easy for the Impostors to sneak in and steal a kill since everyone’s having a first-person view.
Among Us: Proximity Chat
With the help of the VR headsets, the gaming experience is enhanced since you can talk to your friends (crewmates) & hear what is going on. And if you’re an impostor, you can even hear everything while hiding behind a door frame.
